Not these Twists
Here are some turning points in the story that were suggested but were later not included in the book. You might like to read these.
- Grandfather is dead all through the story and his interactions with Sultan are just a magical occurrence.
- Uncle Zain was supposed to have two kids, Sultan and Sarah’s cousins, but they were moved out of the scenario so as to keep them away from the traumatic divorce.
- Zubaida, wife of Uncle Zain, was supposed to have sent audio cassettes or written letters to Erum (Sultan and Sarah’s mother) telling about Scuff, her husband. This was later removed from the story.
- It was earlier decided that Uncle Zain and Uncle Yousuf would be old friends but the idea was dropped.
- Ashes come out from the diary. Grandpa cursed the house and does not want the family to move into a new house. Ashes are found all around the house too.
- The trilogy was given to grandpa by a wise man. Grandpa used to visit the wise man often. When he was in his death bed he gave these three things to grandpa who was widely known as a good person.
- Uncle Zain had secretly sold the Khizar house to a lady a month before the Hayat family planed to move.
- As a child, Uncle Zain had been after the trilogy. One day he saw Sultan wearing the goggles, and started pursuing his goal of achieving the three things…. by spreading ashes and mailing the death certificate of his father. Uncle Zain’s desire of possessing his father’s belongings had strengthened the day he had seen his father visit the wise man. Uncle Zain was sure that the prosperity in his father’s life was due to the three magical things.
- Sultan would have issues with school boys before holidays… during the holidays boys plan a project together… this time Sultan takes help from the knowledge of the Character Skins to deal with the school kids.
- Idea of Uncle Zain getting a message from the old wizard’s son, ‘I get one you get three’.
